listen to the songs chronus forgiven aware

In December 2003, Ania recorded her first CD, intended as a college application supplement, at Dave Milliken's studio. The CD contains three songs, two of which (Chronus and Aware) are her own. The third one (Forgiven) is a Deb Talan cover.

Ania can be reached by email at ajakubek@princeton.edu. She would be grateful for comments.

chronus

Donít waste time
Donít waste time, donít lose time,
donít kill time
There are no refunds

If I watch tv all day long,
Donít let me complain that Iím not on
If I let dust gather on my guitar,
Donít let me expect to go far
If I leave all my doors closed,
Donít let me blame you for not opening yours

Chronus doesnít play favourites
Sucking up wonít help you this time
Chronus doesnít play favourites
You canít bribe the god of time

Donít watch tv all day long
Play the guitar, write a song
Donít let dust gather on your heart
Use it to love someone

Chronus doesnít play favourites
Sucking up wonít help you this time
Chronus doesnít play favourites
You canít bribe the god of time

Donít waste time, donít lose time,
donít kill time Ö

aware

Tell me if I am reading between nonexistent lines
Donít tell me that what Iím seeing isnít there
because I believe my eyes
Maybe we should switch thoughts for a day
that way youíd know if you were wrong
And Iíd know if I were mistaken.

I donít know about you
And I donít know if you even do
But I know that I am aware

Itís unfair for me to be put in this position
Whatever I do, it will be a lose lose situation
Donít tantalize me with your arms
while stating theyíre not made for me
Make up your goddamn mind
and lose the hypocrisy

I donít know about you
And I donít know if you even do
But I know that I am

Oh where oh where has your awareness gone?
Oh why oh why has the wind blown it away?

Hey you have to realize this isnít your heyday
May you get us through this mayday
