listen to the songs chronus forgiven aware

In December 2003, Ania recorded her first CD, intended as a college application supplement, at Dave Milliken's studio. The CD contains three songs, two of which (Chronus and Aware) are her own. The third one (Forgiven) is a Deb Talan cover.

Ania can be reached by email at ajakubek@princeton.edu. She would be grateful for comments.

chronus

Don’t waste time
Don’t waste time, don’t lose time,
don’t kill time
There are no refunds

If I watch tv all day long,
Don’t let me complain that I’m not on
If I let dust gather on my guitar,
Don’t let me expect to go far
If I leave all my doors closed,
Don’t let me blame you for not opening yours

Chronus doesn’t play favourites
Sucking up won’t help you this time
Chronus doesn’t play favourites
You can’t bribe the god of time

Don’t watch tv all day long
Play the guitar, write a song
Don’t let dust gather on your heart
Use it to love someone

Chronus doesn’t play favourites
Sucking up won’t help you this time
Chronus doesn’t play favourites
You can’t bribe the god of time

Don’t waste time, don’t lose time,
don’t kill time …

aware

Tell me if I am reading between nonexistent lines
Don’t tell me that what I’m seeing isn’t there
because I believe my eyes
Maybe we should switch thoughts for a day
that way you’d know if you were wrong
And I’d know if I were mistaken.

I don’t know about you
And I don’t know if you even do
But I know that I am aware

It’s unfair for me to be put in this position
Whatever I do, it will be a lose lose situation
Don’t tantalize me with your arms
while stating they’re not made for me
Make up your goddamn mind
and lose the hypocrisy

I don’t know about you
And I don’t know if you even do
But I know that I am

Oh where oh where has your awareness gone?
Oh why oh why has the wind blown it away?

Hey you have to realize this isn’t your heyday
May you get us through this mayday
